Make Summer Count! is a collaboration of nonprofits, corporations and community leaders united in the belief that all children and youth deserve healthy meals and the opportunity to keep learning when school ends. Please join us in feeding bodies, fueling brains and Making Summer Count.
Nearly 50 community partners agree that nutrition and learning should be part of every child and youth’s summer
experience. Make Summer Count! aims to increase the number of children participating in summer meal sites and
to encourage students to keep reading and thinking critically during the summer months.
Research shows that when compared to middle-income students who have no summer school, low-income students
with no summer school perform much lower on reading achievement tests throughout the school year.
